Lt. General Michael Groen (USMC, Ret.)

Lt. General Michael Groen (USMC, Ret.) is a Strategic Partner at Tower Strategy with decades of experience across defense, intelligence, and emerging technology. He most recently served as Director of the Department of Defense’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center, where he led the development and integration of AI capabilities across the U.S. military.

General Groen previously held senior leadership roles in intelligence and cyber operations, including service at the National Security Agency and as Director of Joint Staff Intelligence. A combat veteran, he has extensive experience advising senior U.S. leadership on complex national security, technology, and operational challenges.

In addition to his role at Tower Strategy, General Groen serves as a Managing Partner at Global Frontier Advisors, where he supports initiatives at the intersection of national security, emerging technology, and frontier market development.

At Tower Strategy, General Groen advises clients on artificial intelligence, defense policy, and national security strategy, helping them align with U.S. government priorities and navigate the intersection of technology, policy, and operational risk.
